Friday the 13th, what's wrong?

We had our usual assembly that was held last Friday 13th. Instead of saying TGIF (Thank god it's friday), we now have 'Oh, it's friday the 13th!'

Did you know that we have had 3 Fridays 13th this year? One in January, April and the last one just gone. Don't believe me? Check the calender.

Here's an interesting fact: People who suffer from a fear of this day is known as 'friggatriskaidekaphobes' ...and I have no idea what is the right way to pronounce that word. Basically, this phobia prevents people from going out.

Here's ONE theory about the origins of Friday 13 (source from the dominion post, 13/7/12)
"In numerology, the number 12 is considered the number of completeness. For example, 12 months of the year, 12 hours of the clock, 12 gods of Olympus and so on...... therefore number 13 was considered irregular......."    very interesting!

Nevertheless, whether it is Friday the 13th or not...that certainly didn't have any impact on our students or staff ! We are all a bunch of happy people...aren't we? :)

We have 2 Japanese students leaving us today. One is a nurse who will go back to Japan to continue with her job. Another one is looking for work around NZ.
 All the very best :)

We also have Naglaa Brikha who is looking to run her own Cafe business, somewhere in Courtenay Place. Please let us know when you have, we are very much looking forward to it!
